CIC has come a long way since we started offering office space to startups nearly 20 years ago! As we look towards further expansion in the Boston-Cambridge area, in addition to spaces slated to open in Philadelphia and Providence, we invite you to check out both our flagship location at One Broadway and our most recent Massachusetts-based expansion project at 50 Milk Street in Boston.
While both Massachusetts CIC locations combined house over 1,000 innovative companies in collaborative workspaces, you’ll learn more about the physical differences between the spaces on a walking tour of each, as well as the differences between the type of innovator each space attracts. For instance, at CIC Boston, we’ve recently added Design Town, a design and makerspace community complete with a fabrication lab. You’ll also find some creatively designed spaces like our zen room.
Across the river, CIC Cambridge is home to the enormously popular Thursday networking gathering, Venture Cafe. Over 400 local innovators and entrepreneurs come each week for office hours, panel sessions, and theme nights on life sciences, sustainability, and the future of defense innovation. But Venture Cafe isn’t the only free and public event we host; in fact we actually sponsor space for over 20 events each month! As a NewCo attendee, you’ll have the chance to chat directly with the movers and shakers behind events like Venture Cafe, Startup Week, Boston VR, F*ckup Nights, Boston Quantitative and Systems Pharmacology Meetup, QuantUniversity Meetup, Code for Boston, Startupalooza, and the many events held by TiE Boston. After chatting in small groups with each event host, you’ll be invited on a tour of our Kendall Square location. The tour will wrap up back at Venture Cafe where you will be welcome to enjoy the events of the evening as well as a carefully curated bar.
