Digital Communications and Media Relations Manager, US

This position is responsible for the management of all digital communication activities for the OSRAM US, including digital brand campaigns, corporate website and social media. Furthermore, the role includes supporting our US media relations activities in terms of classical PR channels like press releases, as well as leveraging the messages via social media channels. As OSRAM has several US entities all over the country (ranging from horticulture solutions to LED components and smart infrastructure products and services), alignment and amplifying of their communication activities will play an important role.

The Digital Communications & Media Relations Manager will oversee our creative and social media agency and is aligned with OSRAM global brand standards in an effort to increase brand awareness, affinity and elevate the OSRAM product portfolio. This position reports to the Head of Communications & Brand, US, as well as the global Head of Digital Communications in Munich, Germany. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Digital Communications and Campaigns (incl. Social Media & Web - 60%)

  • Develop, execute and track digital marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness of OSRAM
  • Track competitor activity by keeping abreast of market changes and the marketing mix used by competitors.

  • Develop and oversee social media strategy in the US and lead agency resources to optimize all regional social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIN

  • Creatively drive OSRAM’s social presence to support OSRAM’s efforts as an industry influencer

  • Deep knowledge of best in class and emerging social media analytics and content trends

  • Ability to work collaboratively, and in partnership with a global digital team in order to support brand campaigns

  • Develop and maintain the corporate web-pages of www.osram-americas.com  with support of an agency

  • Oversee and align Business Unit web activities

  • Optimize content e.g. SEO

  • Use tracking tools to enhance customer journey

Media Relations (40%)


    • Contribute to our media relations and communications strategy, as well as execute project elements alongside Head of Media Relations for the on-going expansion of the OSRAM brand, including trade shows, product launches, major events, innovation stories and thought leadership, etc.
    • Act as day-to-day liaison for OSRAM (and the brand family) supporting all press activities designed to increase awareness, visibility and brand credibility within US media outlets

    • Prepare and manage the approval process and dissemination of press materials in coordination with the Head of Media Relations Americas and Corporate Headquarters Media Relations Team in Munich, Germany

    • Maintain and build quality relationships with editors, reporters and thought leaders in the US.

Requirements

  • Energetic self-starter with strong leadership skills and work ethic

  • 5-7+ years of digital communications and traditional media relations experience,

    agency experience a plus

  • Strive for establishing and maintaining resilient contacts with influencers both in social media an press

  • Hands on experience planning and managing campaigns in Paid Search, SEO, Retargeting, Affiliate Marketing, Display/Remarketing and Social Media

  • Proficiency in website content management software CMS and web tracking tools

  • Experience managing a budget and agency resources

  • Ability to create video content or graphic design skills, a plus

  • Manage creative agencies to develop digital marketing campaigns

  • Experience working in a corporate with a matrix org structure
