The Opportunity:

Workhuman seeks a Vice President, Customer Acquisition, Retention & Advocacy to lead our customer acquisition marketing efforts in support of our sales organization across all stages of the customer journey – acquisition via demand gen, retention and advocacy. This person will own and lead demand gen, account-based marketing, field marketing, experiential (events), and all aspects of marketing that touch existing and future customers.  This senior level marketing role will work collaboratively with the VP of Brand Marketing to ensure total alignment with all brand messaging and activation elements. 

We are seeking a strategic marketing disruptor who can get things done. Our ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial innovator with a solid marketing background with a proven record in driving profitable sales and working directly with sales teams and customers.

Our ideal candidate will have deep experience in driving profitable revenue via demand gen programming as well as an in-depth experience in experiential/event marketing.  In addition, the ideal candidate will understand what it takes to successfully market to large enterprise customers and have a deep understanding of the strategic sell to turn these customers into advocates. This person will be customer-centric, strategic and understand how to support sales organizations with innovative marketing. You are able to pull together cross functional teams, you have the ability to drive customer awareness, acquisition and subsequent advocacy. You are a powerhouse leader with the ability to teach, motivate and lead a strong marketing team. You are agile, collaborative, confident and driven but also have the humility to listen to the customer and others around you before making decisions.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement fully integrated and targeted customer acquisition marketing plans to support sales initiatives and priorities
  • Lead all marketing initiatives to drive targeted customer awareness, acquisition, retention and advocacy in support of the sales team.
  • Oversee and lead all demand generation, field marketing and experiential (events) activations - all aspects of how our brand connects with customers virtually or face-to-face
  • Oversee all creative output
  • Work collaboratively with the VP Brand marketing to align on all brand messaging and activation plans
  • Collaborate cross functionally with strategic sales and enablement teams
  • Oversee all reporting, measurement and analysis of all activation results


The Skills You Will Bring:

  • 20+ years of senior marketing leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • B2B experience in technology, software, or data-driven business segments
  • Proven strategic leadership in creating and implementing effective customer marketing acquisition & retention strategies and activation plans
  • In-depth knowledge/experience in acquiring and retaining large enterprise-level customers via fully integrated demand gen and ABM efforts (direct mail, social, trade shows, etc.)
  • Proven results in driving brand awareness, relevancy and profitable results
  • Proven ability in understanding and working with sales teams in the field
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, agile, willing to pivot, try new things and test to success
  • Team-oriented individual with proven skills in inspiring and leading high performing teams and working collaboratively with other senior level colleagues
  • Excellent communicator (written/spoken) and presentation skills
  • Positive attitude and energy
