Description

In this dynamic blended program, you will learn to design highly efficient, cost-effective motors and bring electric machines and motion-control applications to life. 

With the guidance of leading MIT engineers and alongside a cohort of accomplished peers, you will: 

  • Refine your understanding of magnetic forces 
  • Evaluate the power electronic circuits used to control electric machines 
  • Examine dominant machine types, including layout and operation 
  • Analyze the expansion and use of windings in space harmonics 
  • Discover how permanent magnets are harnessed in electric machinery 
  • Apply operational requirements in electric machine design 
  • Determine the operation of electric drives and control techniques in electric machinery
