Authentic open source projects are community oriented and founded in the principles of software freedom and collaborative development. The Open Source Technology Management program at Brandeis is dedicated to enhancing and expanding the open source community through micro-courses and digital badges developed with and endorsed by the Open Source Initiative. 

OSI selected Brandeis as its higher education partner-of-choice to ensure quality online course delivery that is  committed to building virtual communities of practice.
